War is signified by The Second Seal of Revelation or The Second Horse of the Apocalypse. The Red Horse

The Second Seal of Revelation known as the Second Horseman of the Apocalypse is visualised as the rider on the Red Horse. This Seal represents quite simply War, the end of peace, and all of it’s many variations. Many say it represents World War 3 and is the Sword mentioned in the Fourth Horseman of the Apocalypse mentioned in the Fourth Seal of Revelation which many say is a blending of the first three Horsemen. This Second Seal forms part of the Seven Seals of Revelation

Revelation 6:3-4 The Second Seal of Revelation
3. And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see.
4. And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.

This Second Seal of Revelation ties in very closely with the Sword mentioned in the Fourth Seal of Revelation or the Fourth Horseman where one quarter or 25% of the worlds population will die from war, famine, the beasts and death or pestilence (disease)

Below is an in depth analysis via Bible software from The Twelve Gates You Tube to delve deeper into what the Second Seal of Revelation is all about. Is it World War 3 or more? Has it been opened

There are three main Great Wars mentioned in the Book of Revelation.

1. The first is the opening of the Second Seal which begins the first of these wars and is Man V Man and conventional warfare. Doesn’t seem related to the last two.
2. The second, is Armageddon or Megiddo which will come before and after, around the time of the Destruction of Mystery Babylon.
3. The third war is the War of Gog Magog which takes place after the Millennial Kingdom.

When do these Great Wars take place?

The last one is in Revelation 20 after the destruction of Mystery Babylon and Ezekiel also mentions that same Great War. This Great End Time War will be the War of Gog & Magog that is described in Revelation 20:7-9. This is post the Millennial Kingdom (referenced in the expiration of the 1000 years)after the Return of Christ, so is not the same sort of war that is mentioned in The Second Seal of Revelation which is more Man v Man or conventional warfare, rather than spiritual warfare.

Revelation 20:7-9 Gog Magog
7. And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
8. And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
9. And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.

Another war is mentioned in Revelation 16 which seems to start forming in Armageddon that many think will be the Battle of Armageddon. Many say it could take place in Megiddo which is a real place or real location and it’s in the Middle East, just east of present day Israel.

Revelation 16:16 And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.

The actual battle is mentioned in Revelation 19 in Verses 11-21 and an extract of that appears in Revelation 19:19

Revelation 19:19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.

Him that sat on the horse is Jesus and his army is The Saints who win this battle of Armageddon. This again is a spiritual war which precedes the creation of the Millennial Kingdom, but comes after the destruction of Mystery Babylon, and is not really a Third World War based on conventional warfare

The War hinted at with the arrival of the opening of the Second Seal is Man V Man as in traditional or conventional warfare which many predict to be the mother of all wars, short in duration maybe just months, but fierce, ruthless and a hopeless war with no winners and possibly eventually nuclear in nature. The opening of the Seal ensures that “ it is permitted to make men slay one another”. God is allowing this to happen at this time and not before. There have been plenty of opportunities for this to happen since the Second World War, but for some reason it never has. On the opening of the second Seal, all this will change but it will be gradual and not a light switch moment.

The war and warlike tendencies can also manifest itself in other forms which we are seeing increasingly in the last few years in our Modern Society and that is Protests, increase in Anarchy, rising Racial tensions and strikes. Civil war is another example which is war within nations which would be the kingdom against kingdom mentioned in Matthew 24, and organised crime is another form of man telling against fellow man. Terrorist attacks is another obvious example. At the individual level, feuds,  and fierce arguments will generate increasing numbers of murders, and there will be a prevalent sense of Anarchy in the air. Other things associated by the Sword represented and held by the rider of the Red Horse will be assassinations, uprisings, militancy and warfare.

Jesus talked about this to his disciples after addressing the multitudes at the Mount of Olives mentioned yet again in Matthew 24 and also in Mark 13 and Luke 21. I think what is said here relates to the Second Seal of Revelation and not to the Battles of Armageddon or Gog Magog, which happen later in the Book of Revelation Prophecy.

Matthew 24:6
And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

Mark 13:7
And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet.

Luke 21:9
But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by.

Summary:
In summary the Second Seal of Revelation and it’s breaking illustrates that peace will be removed from the earth and open conflict will break out everywhere. God since the invention of the Nuclear Bomb has protected mankind from the horrors of Nuclear war occurring around the globe, but that protection will be removed and is indicated by this Red Horse (the Second Horse of the Apocalypse) mentioned in the Book of Revelation. This seal takes peace away from the earth, and men who should love and help one another, will change and start  killing one another.

My interpretation as to the nature of this Second Seal as with all the Four Seals is once the Seal is broken it is a gradual releasing of these forces onto the earth and they increase in intensity in a gradual manner, pretty much what we are seeing developing right now with the Middle East  elsewhere. Eastern Europe, recent Iran missile Test, North Korea missile tests, The South China Seas, Russia and other areas around the world indicating that this seal has been opened. These are the “wars and rumours of wars” that Jesus spoke of.

The colour of this horse is significant, the Red Colour itself is indicative of blood which will be shed when this seal is opened. The massacre that will take place will be people in general and does not relate to the slaughtering of Christians which is mentioned separately in the Fifth Seal of Revelation.
